Hallowed be your Name

太 Matt. 6:9 : --願人都尊你的名為聖-- ( Hallowed be your Name )

Hallowed: To make holy, most holy

1. 神對摩西說,我是自有永有的,---耶和華是我的名,直到永遠.(出Exo 3:14,15)
And God said to Moses, I AM THAT I AM. And He said, … This is My name forever, and this is My title from generation to generation.

2. 神在西乃山宣告祂的名 : 祂的名就是祂自己 ( 出 Exo. 34:5~7 )
God proclaimed the name of Jehovah on Mount Sinai.

出Exo 34:5~7

耶和華在雲中降臨，和摩西一同站在那裡，宣告耶和華的名。耶和華在他面前宣告說：「耶和華，耶和華，是有憐憫有恩典的神，不輕易發怒，並有豐盛的慈愛和誠實，為千萬人存留慈愛，赦免罪孽、過犯，和罪惡，萬不以有罪的為無罪，必追討他的罪，自父及子，直到三、四代。」
And Jehovah came down in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of Jehovah.
And Jehovah passed by before him and proclaimed, Jehovah! Jehovah God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the sons, and on the sons of sons, to the third and to the fourth generation.

3.從神自己的宣告裏,我們得以知道祂是怎樣的一位神;祂是完全慈愛,公義和聖潔的神.
From God’s own proclamation, we know who He is: God of mercy and grace, just and holy.

4.神的名說到祂是至聖至榮,可頌可畏,施行奇事的全能者. (出Exo.15:11)天上的諸軍,和一切被造之物都要向祂歌頌 “聖哉!聖哉!聖哉!”
God’s name proclaim that He is glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders. All heavenly hosts and creations will sing praise to Him, “Holy! Holy! holy!”

5. 神的名是絕對不可褻瀆的,十誡中的第三條就是不可妄稱耶和華的名.
(利 Lev. 22:2;出20:7)
God’s name shall not be profaned. Commandment number 3 in the Ten Commandments writes You shall not take the name of Jehovah your God in vain

A. 任何人對神的所是起懷疑或是不信,就是褻瀆祂的名.
Anyone who questions or does not believe who God Is are profaning the name of God.

B. 凡人帶著污穢去摸神的聖物(聖工)就是褻瀆神的名.
Anyone who touch the sanctified vessels of God in defilement are profaning the name of God.

C. 當人故意違背神的律例,典章,就是褻瀆神的名.
When people purposely violate God’s laws and decrees, they are profaning the name of God.

D. 當人把不潔淨的,次好的獻給神,就是藐視神的名.(瑪Mal. 1:6,7,11)
When people offer unclean and defected objects to God, they are profaning the name of God.

E. 當神的百姓在外邦中,玷污自己或是沾染偶像,就使神的名大大受到褻瀆.(結Eze. 36:16~25)
When God’s people among the nations defile themselves or associate with idols, they are severely profaning the name of God.

6. 我們當如何尊神的名為聖?
How do we honor the name of God and keep His name holy?

A. 凡事尋求神的旨意---並遵行神的旨意,在世上過著敬畏神的生活.
In all things seek God’s will. Submit to His will in all ways. Lead a life of fearing God in this world.

B. 時常尋找機會為主作見證,時常獻上感恩祭與人分享神的愛.(利Lev. 22:29~32)
Seek often the opportunity to witness for the Lord, offer up the sacrifice of thanksgiving and share God’s love with people.

C. 在我們的頭上時常帶著 “ 歸耶和華為聖 ”的金牌,

(在我們的心思意念裏,時常記住:神說—我是耶和華,你們要尊我的名為聖.)

甚至有一天連馬的鈴鐺上都掛著 “歸耶和華為聖”
Carry with us all the time upon our head the golden emblem of “Sanctified unto the Lord” (in our mind always remember: God said, I am Jehovah your God, and you shall sanctify my name) one day even the harness bell of the horse will carry “sanctified unto the Lord”
